How many tourists visit Tasmania each year?

Approximately 3.44 million tourists visited Tasmania in 2024 (year ending December).

This total includes about 3.19 million domestic visitors, reflecting an approximately 5% increase from around 3.03 million in 2023.
International visitors to Tasmania totaled 254,000 in 2024, a rise compared to recent years. The number of overseas visitors was about 25% higher than the 204,000 recorded in 2023.
The overall visitor count in 2024 grew by around 7% year-on-year but remained below pre-pandemic 2019 levels (2019 saw approximately 3.50 million visitors to Tasmania, while 2024 saw around 3.44 million).
