The cost of renting a campervan in Las Vegas can vary significantly depending on the type of vehicle, the rental company, location, length of the rental period, and the time of year. Besides the daily rental rate, you may also need to consider additional costs such as mileage (some companies offer unlimited miles, others do not), generator usage, insurance, and a possible deposit.

Driving a Campervan around Las Vegas
- Nevada has no toll roads. I-15 HOV lanes through the Strip require two or more people from 6:00 to 8:00 and 16:00 to 18:00 on weekdays
- Summer desert heat often exceeds 43°C (110°F). Check coolant levels and carry extra drinking water
- The long climb towards Mountain Pass on I-15 puts stress on engines. Use lower gears and watch temperature gauges
- Clark County prohibits sleeping in vehicles on public streets. Use licenced RV parks or Bureau of Land Management areas outside town
- Petrol stations are rare for 130 km (80 miles) on US-95 north of the valley. Fill up before leaving the metro area
- Park-and-ride at the South Strip Transit Terminal has spaces for tall vehicles. The Deuce bus reaches the Strip every 15 minutes

Does my motorhome come with unlimited mileage?
The majority of campervan hire suppliers in the US do not include unlimited miles as a standard hire inclusion.
In most cases, miles are charged per mile or via prepaid mileage packs (for example, 100-mile packs), and additional fees will be incurred if you exceed what you’ve purchased/allowed. Refund rules vary by supplier—some refund unused estimated mileage deposits, while others do not refund unused prepaid miles. Some suppliers do include unlimited miles as standard.

Where can I camp in Las Vegas? Is free camping allowed?
As with the rest of America, free camping is only allowed in designated areas, which can include national parks, truck stops or rest stops as well as certain parking lots with permission from the store manager.
Las Vegas is also home to many campgrounds and RV resorts, which usually cost around $29-55 (USD) per night.
Some popular choices in the area include the King’s Row RV Park, Thousand Trails Las Vegas RV Resort and the Hitchin Post RV Park Las Vegas.
Can I travel from the US to Mexico in my rental campervan?
Generally, no. Most motorhome suppliers restrict travel into Mexico for vehicles hired in the US. El Monte is an exception to this, however, additional insurance is required.
Can I rent a campervan in the US if I’m under 21?
Most campervan rental suppliers in the USA require the main driver to be 21 years of age or older. A full driver’s licence is required.

Are there any restrictions on where I can take my RV in the US?
Most hire companies only allow their vehicles to be driven on sealed roads.
In addition, note the following restrictions regarding specific areas:
- Mexico - Travel to Mexico is generally prohibited in hire vehicles; some suppliers (such as El Monte) may allow it under certain conditions and with additional insurance.
- Death Valley - Restrictions can vary between suppliers. Some suppliers restrict travel during the hottest months of the year. Check with your hire supplier for full details.
- New York City/City Centre Manhattan - Some hire suppliers restrict travel in or through Manhattan (and sometimes parts of NYC). Check your hire agreement for full details.
- Canada - Motorhomes are generally allowed; however, travel to certain locations may be restricted during colder seasons.
If you take your vehicle where it is not permitted, you will be liable for all damage incurred, and an additional fine may be imposed.
