No, most rental suppliers in Australia list Fraser Island as a restricted area. 4WD campers are also included in this restriction and are not allowed on the island under any circumstances.

Generally, 4WD vehicles can only be driven on recognised sealed tracks.
Exceptions can be made for some areas, however, permission is usually required in advance especially for any off-road areas.
In addition to unsealed roads, companies may restrict certain roads or trails with a reputation for being rough or rugged. If you take your vehicle into an area that is restricted you will be liable for all damages and in some cases will also have to pay a fine.
